London Bonhams Luxury Handbag Auction: Celebrating A Iconic Louis Vuitton Creative Collaboration
First unveiled in 2003 under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs, the collaboration brought Murakami’s vibrant visual language to some of Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable designs, transforming the House’s historic Monogram canvas, which was originally designed in 1896 by Georges Vuitton as a tribute to his father, into a playful and collectable artistic statement. Blending Japanese pop art with traditional craftsmanship, the collection became an instant phenomenon and remains one of the most celebrated collaborations in fashion history.
