Satin Dream | Hidden Fashion Bodysuit

Velvet is so last season - ushered from evening wear into the cool light of day, it’s satin’s turn to shine.

With fluidity and shine, satin brings a relaxed elegance to spring fashion. Satin has transcended beyond a seasonal trend and become a wardrobe staple. Satin is showing up in everyday wear and it's anything but subtle this season. You’ll find the most bright and beautiful colours meant to dazzle when you walk into the room.

Recently, I've been loving this sky blue satin and mesh bodysuit from Hidden Fashion. It's the perfect going out top for drinks with the girls. I've paired it with black tailored trousers from ASOS to glam up my work attire. This outfit looks even more stunning with a blazer on top, my goldfish brain just forgot to take photos with the blazer on.

*Disclaimer: Bodysuit gifted by Hidden Fashion.

Instagram Hair on a Budget! With Duck and Dry Express & the WORLD'S BIGGEST PRIMARK!

Instagram worthy hair on a budget? You heard that right! With the opening of the world's biggest Primark in Birmingham, UK; I was super lucky and got invited to the store preview before the doors were opened to the public. The store is literally the size of a shopping mall, there are 5 floors of endless shopping, 3 cafes to recharge (1 of them is Disney themed!) and even a beauty studio to pamper yourself.

Primark has launched a sister brand Duck and Dry to provide an in-store pampering service to take care of your hair, nails and brows all in one destination. Duck and Dry beauty studios are set to be launched in 40 stores across the UK. Keeping reading as I show you the branch in Birmingham.

The beauty studio is split into 3 different stations.

► Duck and Dry Xpress:

Xpress is where you can get your blow dries and updos. I like how they display all the different styles on the wall so you can get inspired to try something new.

► Duck and Dry File:

File is where you can get your nails done from a simple file and polish to a gel manicure. The interior of the nail bar is so aesthetic and spacious.

► Duck and Dry Pluck:

Pluck is where you can get your brows and eyelashes services. My eyebrows are microbladed, so sadly I won't be stopping at the Pluck station anytime soon.

► Braid-a-licious Updo:

I decided to get my hair braided since my hair has been previously bleached, I'm trying to reduce my heat usage to prevent further damage. There are 3 braid styles you can choose from and all they cost £13 each. You can add on extras like glitter for an additional £5.

I went for the style Braid-a-licious, which is a whimsical half updo. Such a stunning updo! I'm so happy with the results and I wish could braid my hair like this every day, it's definitely inspired me to experiment more with my hairstyles. BUT don't get confused like me, the updo options will only braid your hair, it doesn't include hair curling. I thought the ends of my hair would have been curled like the model's photo. I think you will need to ask for curling as an extra.

I curled it with some straighteners the next day anyway to live that full Instagram Coachella hair fantasy.

Have you checked out the new Primark yet? It's such a Birmingham thing to own the biggest Primark; we already have a super extra train station, what's next? I heard they're planning on renovating the House of Fraser building into a 9 story complex!

*Disclaimer: Updo was complimentary by Duck and Dry Express

The Best Pizza In Birmingham! | @Pizza Grand Central Restaurant Review

New kid on the block spotted in Grand Central, Birmingham! I'm always on the hunt for new food places and thank god Birmingham the foodie city is never short of places with restaurants constantly coming and going. At Pizza recently opened a few weeks ago and I'm buzzing there is a brand new pizza dedicated restaurant with a fresh twist on it. Me and Sian Victoria checked it out as they were having an offer for the Bulling Shopping Affair event, keep reading to see all the goodness!

► Service:

The interior is right up my alley, the dark walls and bright neon lights are perfect for taking Instagram worthy photos and they give off a modern chic atmosphere. I absolutely loved the service there, the staff were all super friendly and hilarious. Personally, I love it when the staff have conversations with me as it makes the experience more welcoming and memorable. The layout of the counter reminds me of Subway, the ingredients are all laid out in the open so you can easily select your toppings.

► Drinks:

I forgot to take photos of the drinks individually, so you're going to have to deal with me posing cheesily with one. They have a soda machine with 6 carefully crafted unique flavours. In my hand, I'm holding my personal favourite one which is Mango and Blood Orange. Lightly fizzed, refreshing and not too sweet. The Peach and Honey Ice Tea is also to die for! The iced tea is a still drink but the other 5 flavours are fizzy sodas.

► Pizza!

Time for the star of this post, THE PIZZAAA! You can design your own pizza at the fixed price of £9.95 with as many or little toppings as you like. It's so much fun and perfect for indecisive eaters that want to devour everything like me! If you don't want to design your own pizza, they also have 7 set ones on the menu.

For my custom pizza I started off with a sourdough base, the superior pizza base, change my mind. I dare you! For the sauce you can pick one or two of your choice, I went for half roquito pepper sauce and half garlic and ricotta. The ricotta was so creamy, my mouth is literally watering thinking about it right now. As for cheese, I opted for the veganarella which surprisingly had a slightly stringy texture just like mozzarella! I love that they have an option for vegans. Whilst I'm not vegan, I'm lactose intolerant so its amazing @Pizza accommodates for people with all sorts of different dietary requirements. It was so hard choosing the toppings because I just wanted a bit of everything. In the end, my indecisive mind went for some pepperoni, fresh jalapeno, grilled red peppers, grilled red onion and kalamata olives. The ingredients were top-notch quality, fresh and flavourful. For the finishing touches, I added some sriracha sauce and garlic mayonnaise. You could be super healthy and finish it off with some salad or some more cheeky cheese, there are so many options for you to come up with some quirky combinations.

► Dessert:

It was a challenge tackling that pizza but there's always room for dessert. We had a Tropococo sundae to share as the portion is quite big. It's made of mango and coconut menodiciotto gelato, pineapple, coconut, mango coulis, icing sugar, mascarpone, crushed Bischoff. This is perfect if you want something light and tropical, it reminded of Raffaello chocolates. They also have dessert pizzas, if you fancy having some more carbs. ^.<

► Overall:

It's safe to say @Pizza has the best pizza I've tried so far in Birmingham and I am definitely going back for more! It's such a nice restaurant to chill out at after shopping, the atmosphere is great and it does not feel like a fast food restaurant whatsoever. Making the custom pizza so was such a fun and personal experience. The food is top notch quality, I and Sian were saying how we felt healthy eating a pizza haha. I would go back for the Tropococo sundae alone.

PEACHY KEEN | FEMME LUXE FINERY

The bright coloured outfits continue! I thought I'd try a completely different style and colour out of my comfort zone with this peachy apricot jumper dress from Femme Luxe. I think the colour is fresh and fits well with the neon trend going on at the moment. My mum saw me wearing this outfit this morning and was like "WTF are you wearing?! 😂", while my mum doesn't approval of this look, I guess you could say it's quite the statement or attention-grabbing jumper. Perfect for keeping you warm in spring and give you that pop of colour. I would have loved to style the dress with a Gucci GG belt, so it would accentuate the waist and pull the outfit together. But my broke student ass doesn't have that kind of Gucci money nor do I really wear belts lol.

What colour are you repping for March?

[Lookbook] BLUE FRILLS | Femme Luxe Finery Outfit

Starting my Monday off blue aye. I love wearing a pop of colour to start my week, it lifts up the office atmosphere while everyone is Monday mourning. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people wear blue outfits considering we were all living for the blue eyeshadow trend. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been loving this ruffle jade teal jumper from Femme Luxe, the colour is so gorgeous and the hem has a cute ruffle detailing. I am actually wearing the jumper in a size M/L because S/M was out of stock. The jumper surprising fits well, I'm not if they're sizing runs smaller? Normally an M/L would be loose on me since I'm a UK size 6/8. So keep their sizing in mind! Otherwise, the quality is great and it's an affordable trendy piece to add to your wardrobe.

The teal blue colour is so stunning, it even inspired me to play with my blue eyeshadows! Here I used the Revolution Pro Mischief Palette, I wish I had the Morphe x James Charles Palette to play with but this will have to do.

KIEHL'S Midnight Recovery Concentrate | Cult Hyped Products Review

Kiehl's £38
Out of all of the overpriced Kiehl's products that I've tried, I feel like this one is worth the price tag! It’s started snowing and hailing in the UK, my face and hands have dried out like no tomorrow this winter! I need more intensive products to stop my skin from flaking, snowflakes are cute but I can’t say the same for flakey skin. 😬

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a facial oil so massaging a few drops in your skin after cleansing it, is enough for the product to start working its wonders. It can be worn alone or with moisturiser, I like to use it with moisturiser because my skin is thirsty for that hydration. I tend to use it at night time, it contains lavender oil so the scent is very calming and helps me to sleep in a breeze! Sometimes I’ll mix it with my foundation for a dewy finish.

I definitely recommend this as it makes your skin baby soft, plumped and radiant. The skin absorbs it nicely, it doesn’t leave any residue. Goodbye dry skin! I’d rate it 8/10, the only con is the price tag, I could be buying a month's worth of McDonald’s burgers!

Hope you enjoyed this quick review! Until next time~

GRILLA, Meat On The Spit. Bar & Grill Review. Liverpool | Munchlax Adventures

Grilla Restaurant

I'm currently sick with a fever, so what's a better way to get over my misery than to think and talk about food right? Food is always the way to my heart! So today I'm reviewing a grill restaurant based in Liverpool, this is one is quite exciting because people have said "it offers a taste of Greece" and I don't really go to grill places in Birmingham.

This visit was from our weekend getaway to Liverpool. It was actually my first time visiting Liverpool and wowww the city had a lot more going on than I expected, I might need to pay another visit soon! We wore matching outfits because we're extra like that; the playsuit I'm wearing is from Missguided.

► Drinks:

To start off the night, we ordered Passion Martinis. It was a pretty strong cocktail, we were already feeling the buzz from a few sips! Made with vodka, Cointreau, passion fruit syrup and passoa, the flavour was nicely balanced given the high alcohol content in it. You could taste the passion fruit and it wasn't too sweet.

► Main:

Phwoarrrr, look at that portion size! I love how they served the food on wooden boards. Claudia got the T-bone steak which also came with a bowl of garden salad and fries. I opted for a veggie option because for some reason that night, I was trying to be "a good vegetarian and do my part for the planet" yeah.... talk about having a weird mood swing and the wrong timing for it at a meat speciality restaurant! For those that aren't familiar with my blog, i'm not actually a vegetarian but sometimes I have mini episodes of trying to contribute to sustainability. Enough rambling, the veggie grill had grilled pitta bread, zucchini courgette, peppers, mushrooms, fries and sweet chilli sauce. It was a bit bland, definitely could have done with some seasoning but the sauce made up for the lack of flavour. I do wish I went for a good old steak or chicken instead!

► Dessert:

We didn't actually order the cake, the owner of Grilla was super lovely and adored our matching outfits so he gave us a complimentary cake to finish off the night. Such a cute surprise and it tasted so good! I'm not sure what cake it was since I can't find it on the menu but it had a rich chocolate and berries flavour, topped with some light and fluffy fresh cream.

► Overall:

The atmosphere was super chill, the staff were super friendly and of course, I love their cocktail deals (because you know I'm an alcoholic, we love a bevvy and even more when it's discounted!). Food-wise, in my experience, I feel like their meaty options are much better than their vegetarian ones, well it is a meat grill restaurant after all! Personally, I wouldn't order the veggie grill again because it was lacking seasoning, but the steak was juicy. I would love to try out their Greek dishes like the souvlakis next time since we only tried out the grill section. The portions are huge, which is great! I would rate Grilla 6.5/10.

Andrew Barton Haircare No Weight Hydrate Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment Review | ASDA

I’m always on the hunt for affordable and genuinely good hair care products because my damaged hair needs all the help it can get, without breaking the bank! Andrew Barton has released an extensive line of hair care products and they were super lovely to send me a few products to try out. They have a wide range of products for different hair types and needs. I have been testing their No Weight Hydrate range for a good few months now, so here are my final thoughts~

►PRODUCT INFO:

The No Weight Hydrate range is suited for those who have oily roots and dry ends that require frequent washing. It contains Moroccan argon oil and coconut milk to nourish your hair without weighing it down. There's also shine-complex ingredients which I won’t get into the science because let’s be honest, me and you probably don’t understand it and what it does.

► REVIEW:

Shampoo: The weirdest shampoo I’ve tried in my entire life! I don’t rate it; the consistency is very runny, it’s almost as thin as water. Yeah... I’m not a massive fan of the formula. Great start to the review. :) The shampoo is very gentle, which is great if you wash your hair frequently because it doesn’t dry out your hair. However, if you’ve left the oils to build up over the course of a few days, you’ll have to wait a few minutes for the shampoo to break down the oils and cleanse the hair properly. Otherwise, your hair will still feel dirty and greasy after.

Conditioner: The conditioner was mediocre, it wasn't bad, it wasn’t amazing. There are better conditioners on the market in the same price range.

Treatment Mask: Okay, this one works nicely, it made my hair soft, more manageable when drying and my hair wasn't weighted down. I actually ended up using it on the daily to replace the conditioner. As for the conditioner, I gave it to a friend since it wasn't providing enough hydration my thirsty hair is looking for.

► OVERALL:

From the products I tried, I think the products are a very hit and miss. If you are interested in the products then Andrew Barton is exclusively sold at ASDA. The majority of the shampoo and conditioners retail for £5 but if you catch them during the ASDA rollback, you can get them for £3.5 or less.

My New Year Resolution and How I Style Cropped Jumpers | FEMME LUXE

Happy new year my loves, hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and were spoilt rotten! Now it's time to grind and kick some ass, 2019 is going to be ours.

For 2019, my main goal is to start posting content consistently again. Last year I was working 2 jobs while finishing off my final year of university. I struggled with managing time to do the things I love (besides from drinking, even with going on nights out I didn't go out as much as I would have liked to). This year I want to dedicate more time on myself, your wellbeing is just as important as paying the bills. Also, I've been reflecting on what made love creating digital content in the first place, I love connecting with others in the community, making a positive impact and that it throws me out of my comfort zone. So I'm going to work harder to try to bring out content consistently across my social media channels and do more challenging things!

To ease into my 2019 goal, FemmeLuxe sent me this super cosy jumper (which i've been living in for the past few days) and I pushed myself to take more photos outdoors again. I forgot how scary it can be with people walking past and watching you, but I did it! The outfit photos turned out decent but it would be even better if I had a photographer! Hint hint, someone please be my Instagram husband.

I love styling off-shoulder with a good old pair of mom jeans, they just go so well together like a match made in heaven. How do you like styling your cropped jumpers? and what are your new year resolutions?

Outfit Details:

Jumper: Femme Luxe - Aspen Black Off Shoulder Jumper
Jeans: I Saw It First - Light Blue Mom Jeans
Shoes: Topshop
