LUSH | Guardian Of The Forest Bath Bomb Review

Summer + finishing work = bath bomb time! As always, when in London you need to pick up some kitchen exclusives from the Lush Oxford Store. I normally go for fruity and tropical scents in the summer but thought I would switch it up to something completely different. Carry on reading to see this beauty release it's vivid colours and to know all the deats about it!

► Info:

Guardian of the Forest is suppose to be a calming and mystical bath bomb. For the main ingredients, it contains Rosewood Oil that is full of fragrance, is uplifting and has antiseptic properties. Oakmoss Absolute for a relaxing mossy scent. Lime Oil to uplift and protect your skin. Lastly, Cypress oil to further relax you and provide more antiseptic benefits.

► Performance:

The bath bomb fizzle immediately on touch with water and transforms the water into a breathe taking lagoon with it's gorgeous vivid forest green colour. As you can see in the photos above, it creates intricate green and yellow patterns when fizzing. It was pretty entertaining to watch. It also has cute shimmer that swirl around you, a nice touch to the mystical guardian vibes. The shimmer didn't sink to the bottom of the bath tub like their Frozen Ballistic Bath Bomb, thank god! No extra rinsing needed.

Before using it, I didn't really know what to except for the scent but I ended up absolutely loving it more than I anticipated. The scent was a fresh forest mossy scent, very earthy almost like when you're taking a nice walk in nature. The scent was quite subtle and not overpowering, which is perfect!

► Overall:

My skin felt hydrated and softer after using it. The scent is very unique and fresh, great for those that are after a different surprise. The scent does linger but it's very subtle. The gorgeous green and fresh scent created a magical and calming atmosphere, that carried my mind away into a fantasy land. The bath bomb experience would of been better if I was reading a book while relaxing in it. I would definitely purchase this again.

► Rating: 9/10

Have you tried out a new scent for summer? ^^

BLACK DIVISION / Hong Kong Streetwear Outfit

I am so in love with the street style and Hype Bae fashion! I've always want to wear and support streetwear but literally everyone else around is wearing the same thing so I kind of stayed away from it. However, I couldn't help myself when I saw this sweater whilst shopping in Hong Kong - Ya Ma Tei and instantly purchased it without thinking, I was heart emoji face all over it! It's my go to sweater, the quality is great and makes you look stylish + on trend without much effort.  I'm not sure if the brand of sweater is Black Division or if it's just the sweater print, but if you go Ya Ma Tei, they have so many street style shops. Everything from Stussy and Off White to brands you have seen before like the one i'm wearing~ ^.<

BURGER AND LOBSTER, Manchester Review

Last month I visited Manchester for the Lost in Time - Go HARDWELL or Home concert(/rave or whatever you prefer to call it ^.<), literally one of the best and most memorable nights of my life. I need to relive that experience and see my bae Hardwell again. Okay, moving on~ the next morning I was craving some good food and my best friend Claudia suggested going Burger & Lobster. I haven't been Burger & Lobster since they first opened in London back in 2011/2012, so thought it was a good suggestion - lets go!

► Drink:

Their menu has expanded since it first opened, I remember when it used to be 4 items only. They now have few more variations of burgers and others. I know, i'm boring (or you could say healthy ^.<) for ordering water but I could do with no more wine/alcohol after a night out. I like that they have their logo on a bottle, very aesthetic.

► Food:

Time for good part! If you read my blog, you will know that I am indecisive af. So I went for the Burger and Lobster Combo, where you get a 1.25lb lobster with a 6oz burger. It comes with a portion of chips, side of salad and some lush garlic butter sauce. In my case, I get 3 salads because my friends don't like their greens. Yasss more food for Michelle~ We were given bid

The lobster was grilled really nicely to perfection, it maintained the softness of the meat and juiciness. Not overcooked or underdone. It does come with a tool to help you get the meat out easier but it's just so much more enjoyable to dig in with your fingers. The garlic butter sauce it comes with taste like heaven! Honestly, its probably the best garlic butter sauce i've tried to date. It very creamy and blasting with flavour. Complements the lobster really well. Lastly, the salad was fresh and crunchy. It was good however I do feel they could of use a better salad dressing than a drizzle of vinegar.

Overall, a very delightful meal and a lovely treat when you want to splurge a little bit more on food. The atmosphere at the Manchester branch was quieter and calming, where as the London branches were very busy, lively and full of energy.

KPop Diet #16: Lee Guk Joo's Konjac Diet - LOST 6KG IN 2 WEEKS!

Lee Guk Joo is a highly popular comedian/gag woman, you may have seen her on many Korean reality shows (if you watch them ^.<). On KBS 2TV's Emergency Escape 1, she revealed on a episode that she went on the Konjac Diet and lost 6kg in 2 weeks!

So what is this Konjac diet that GukJoo speaks of?

Konjac is a root food that has been used for thousands of years for weight lost in Japan. Konjac has almost zero calories so it acts a brilliant filler. You can eat as much konjac as you want throughout the diet, so you won't experience any hunger and can enjoy a full meal with fewer calories. Konjac is suitable for everyone as it's gluten free, 100% natural and non allergenic. It's commonly found in a noodle or cube form.

Konjac also provides many health benefits!

  • It supports insulin resistance, so helps to control blood sugar levels. Great for diabetics.
  • Helps to cleanse the digestive systems and is effective against digestive troubles as 70% of Konjac is made of up non irritating fibres.
  • Lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels

You can find many Konjac meal recipes online, most of them are super easy and quick to cook!

Would you try out this diet and what do you think of it?

CAFE ROUGE, Birmingham. Summer 2017 Menu | #SummerTasteAdventure

I live for good food and stunning views, Cafe Rouge offers exactly that! Cafe Rouge were super lovely and invited a bunch of us Birmingham bloggers to sample and try out their brand new Spring/Summer inspired menu. Their previous Winter event (read about it here ^^) blew me away, but this Summer event was even better! Cafe Rouge doesn't fail to impress. Let's get started with the summer adventure~

► Gin Bloom Cocktails:

We was greeted with prosecco and gin & tonic as Cafe Rouge launched 4 new Gin Bloom cocktails flavours - Elderflower, Grapefruit & Orange, Cucumber & Watermelon and Green Tea & Lemongrass. I went for the Grapefruit & Orange gin, which I really liked! I am normally not fond of gin because of the bitter aftertaste, but the grapefruit notes gives a strong citrus flavour thats sweet, refreshing and very up lifting. Couldn't taste the gin yasss.

► Nibbles & Starters:

Please excuse my chipped nail polish~ Along with our cocktails, we were served with a plate of nibbles. There were three different toppings served on sourdough bread - Salmon with picked fennel, Crab & avocado and their classic Pate with shallot & raisin chutney. The Tian of Crab and Avocado was my favourite out of the three, which is the one i'm holding and one of the new summer items. The creaminess of the avocado and crab with coriander mayonnaise just compliment each other so well. I want to go back Cafe Rouge right now for some more!

We were also served duck, that comes with a creamy sauce and potatoes. I thought it was quite interesting since i'm used to Chinese restaurants serving duck with a fruity sauce. So it was a really nice change. ^^ To finish off the nibbles I also tried some of their artesian deli meats from their French production sites.

► Main & Mocktails:

Before my main arrived, I had some cheeky red wine and a Peach Ice Tea mocktail~ Changed from cocktails to mocktails because I'm a lightweight but I highly recommend it! The peach flavour was so juicy and luscious. Literally to die for and perfect for the weather!

For my main I went for one of the new summer items called Tagine. It's a Moroccan style stew served with a Mediterranean Khobez flatbread. The stew is packed full of veggies - butternut squash, carrots, spinach, chickpeas, courgettes, coriander and almonds. Full of texture and flavours going on; it was truly heart warming like comfort food. Just what I needed to cure a hangover.

Couldn't resist another mocktail before the desserts arrived. This time I went for French Garden Fizz recommended by Abbiegayle, which is a very fresh and sweet drink with elderflower petals, fresh mint and lemon & lime juice. This turned out to be my favourite drink from the evening. If I were describe the taste of summer with a drink, it would be the French Garden Fizz mocktail. I do wish I got round to trying all the mocktail on the menu, they all sounded so delicious.

► Desserts:

For dessert, we had a selection of treats! I was craving Creme Brulee, so I was filled with joy when it saw it. Always a go to desert classic. The desserts all tasted so heavenly. My top treat had to be the Raspberry Parfait with salted cameral pistachio; it was so smooth and I loved the sharpness of the raspberry.

► Overall:

To finish off the event Cafe Rouge were super adorable and gave me flowers! Whattt? Sweetest restaurant ever. <3 Anyway~ I really enjoyed my time at Cafe Rouge. Not just the only food, I enjoyed everything from the incredible atmosphere, friendly staff and stunning Mailbox view. Cafe Rouge always make me feel welcomed. Loving all the fruity goodness and refreshing flavours on the summer menu, I will be back for some more mocktails indeed. Thank you Cafe Rouge for once again hosting such an amazing event and I am so grateful for the invite. <3
