EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE CLUB | FIVEPOUNDTEE

Why be like everyone else in the Anti Social Club when you can be a black sheep in the Emotionally Unavailable Club?

When I saw this tee I knew I immediately needed it in my life! It reminded me so much of their 00 F*CKS GIVEN tee. Super simple and chill design, yet it's edgy af. I went for a more laid back and casual vibe in the pics above, by styling it with a denim jacket. But if you really wanted to take it the next level and give off cold emotionally unavailable vibes then you can style it a chocker and some grey lipstick. I am wearing NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Stone Fox.

See what I mean by it take the shirt/look to a whole new level? I look a lot more badass than a I actually am eeks.

Do you prefer to style your shirts casually or more edgy? ^^

JAMIE'S ITALIAN, Birmingham. Super Lunch Menu Review

Jamie's Italian were super lovely and invited me to try out their scrumptious Super Lunch Menu, which is an amazing deal where you can chose to have a two or three course lunch. I went for the 3 course because I love me some good dessert! You've got to read until the end because dessert is always the best part of course!

► Atmosphere:

The restaurant is located in the Bullring, so you get a lovely view of Birmingham's well known funky/curvy architecture. The atmosphere is super chilled, I adored the open and relaxing vibe it gave off. Friendly staff and great service to top it off, definitely makes it the perfect place for lunch.

► Drinks:

As it's summer, the waitress recommend us to try out the Watermelon Mojito which I believe is their summer edition of the original Jamie's Mojito. If you're expecting your usual sharp mojito cocktail, this is something different. The watermelon flavour is calming, the Prosecco gives it a little bubble while the lime and mint gives it a hint of freshness. It's a nice drink if you're in the mood something relaxing yet refreshing. I personally prefer fruity drinks so next time I think i'll go for their Peach & Apricot Collins cocktail.

► Starters:

For starters my food buddy - Tom went for Fritto Misto which is crispy fried fish and squid (sustainable sourced). I love that more restaurants are going with sustainably source ingredients. He said it was wonderful and it really made him want to go the beach. If you are after a starter that's insta worthy or gives you vacation vibes, Fritto Misto is a good choice.

I opted out for the Truffle Tagliatelle, which is pasta served with an incredible truffle butter and aged parmesan cheese. Topped with more shaved black truffle to finish off. The truffle butter was silky, had the perfect amount of rich truffle flavour that wasn't overpowering or underwhelming. Just amazing! I've always want try to truffle from watching Buzzfeed's Worth It series as they're always eating truffle, caviar or gold! Oh btw, when you try the shaved truffle it taste almost like mushroom but it definitely has a distinct taste.

► Main:

How mouthwatering do our mains look? I am excited to go back for more! But for our mains, Tom went for the Italian Steak and Fries. Curious as to how Italian steak is different from French or British steak because I haven't tried it before, I asked the waiter and they described the meat as slightly tougher and has more texture. The steak was covered in a generous amount of garlic butter and you could taste the perfected grill flavour when indulging the steak. Highly recommend!

As I have been reducing my meat intake recently I went for a new vegetarian dish on the Super Lunch Menu, Gnocchi Sorrentina. Which is organic potato gnocchi that has been beautifully slow roasted in a rich tomato sauce. It also has some cherry tomatoes that bust with flavour and creamy mozzarella. You could taste that the restaurant uses high quality ingredients. As a cheese lover, I do wish there was more mozzarella because it was amazing! Probably one of the nicest mozzarella i've tried. The dish was very filling, I was in mini food coma after waiting for dessert.

► Dessert:

Saving the best for last, dessert time! If I am not having cheesecake, Tiramisu is my go to dessert. Jamie did not disappointment with his take on the classic. It had multiple delicate layers of coffee flavoured sponge, luscious mascarpone cheese and chocolate that gave a lovely texture. Very well done. I could go for seconds!

Tom went for the Mighty Mess Sundae, which consist of a vanilla ice cream, strawberry yoghurt, smashed meringue, strawberry compote and baby basil. You've got a lot of fun going in one small bowl. Tom loved it and was surprised how well the basil and strawberry compote combination worked.

► Overall & Info:

Overall it was a super chill and delightful experience. It's an absolutely lovely place to go for lunch when taking a break from the office with a college or to take the family to. I adore the casual approach the resultant has. The food is quality and top notch. The friendly staff made sure everything was perfect and was very open to answering my questions. I definitely highly recommend it and will be going back for more.

I WENT VEGAN FOR A WEEK / What I Ate In A Week. Pros of Plant Based Diet

There have been times where I have attempted to go vegetarian (and failed miserably at that lol) so I pushed myself to the extremes and challenged myself to go fully vegan for one week! It could be more extra going on a raw vegan diet but I would mostly not make it past 2/3days. I vlogged/documented my experience which you can watch in the video above. :') I also tried out a new editing style which I am very happy about~

The Pros of going vegan/ a plant based diet:

  • Plenty of health benefits - increased energy, improved skin, significantly reduces the risks of a number of major illnesses.
  • Veganism is more environmentally sustainable as it requires less land to support compared to a meat/dairy diet. Meat production is a significant contributor to deforestation.
  • Helps alleviate world hunger. If grains were fed to humans instead of livestock, more food would be available for the 925 million people in chronic hunger.

^ Last point, I do question about as majority of the excess grains produced is purely for livestock. That's why there's 2 sides to every debate right?

Would you try going vegan?

1992 Originals, Lazy Day Outfit | FIVEPOUNDTEE

Collaborating with FIVEPOUNDTEE again to show you guys two of their new tees. They've released a bunch of new designs and their store has expand so much, it was difficult picking out my two favourites tees. The first one I picked out is their 1992 Originals Geometric Tee in Grey. (I'm not wearing black for once, what???)

This is my current favourite go to t-shirt. I reach for this shirt on days when i'm late, feeling lazy or just want something more causal. The geometric print brings the casual shirt some edgy millennial vibes. Simple yet effective.

The price point of Five Pound Tee shirts is always a stunner to me because the quality of the shirt is great and it's super soft! Thank you for blessing us with on trend design for such a good an afforable price! <3

PEACHY FOX LONDON | Natural Marine Collagen Eye Gel Review

If follow me on Instagram (@MichelleCheungg) or Snapchat you may have seen me constantly complaining about my darks circles in the morning. They are pretty pretty bad, to the point they even peak through heavy makeup. Colour correcting them, don't help either. So I was very ecstatic to try out the Peachy Fox London Marine Collagen Eye Gel! Like is this the cure to the bane of my existence? *Dark circles, i'm just being dramatic but they seriously are really bad!

► Packaging:

Simple and clean packaging. The product comes in a hygienic airless pump like the rest of their products. I wouldn't say it's travel friendly as many other eye gel/cream products tend to come in smaller tubes.

► Product:

The consistency is a thick gel that is cooling and not tacky, the cooling sensation is lovely for waking up my tired eyes in the morning and just a nice feeling for using it in summer. Cool it in the fridge before using it for a more intense cooling and reduce puffiness further.

► Results:

Before applying the eye gel and the results after 15 minutes. My dark circles are visibility less noticeable! At first I wasn't expecting much results due to having dark circles for such a long time. The results are almost instant and reduce dark circles the more you use it. This is my favourite Peachy Fox product I have tried and tested so far. It's my current holy grail eye gel product too and the best one i've tried so far in the 20 years of my life.

► Overall:

I am constantly working so I lack the much needed sleep to keep my dark circles at bay. This eye gel is ever so lush! Great consistency and lovely cooling sensation for waking tired eyes. I've noticed my dark circles have reduced slightly and it really helped with reducing the puffiness as well. I can't comment on if I helps with reducing wrinkles or not, as I don't have any. Looking forward to using this more to get further results!

► Rating: 9/10
